Where does a row in Excel go?

Every column maps to a HukukBis field and every row is validated; the valid ones become client and case records. You can export your data at any time, and backups run on their own.

Every column goes to a field

The wizard maps the columns of your file to client and case fields; you pick the one whose name differs. With the template files the mapping is almost automatic.

Migration in three steps

The wizard on the right shows these steps; click a step or pause the playback.

  1. 01/03

Make the first row of the table the header and keep each record on one row. The template files on the import screen keep the columns ready for you.

  2. 02/03

The wizard maps columns to client and case fields; you pick the column that is named differently.

  3. 03/03

Every row is checked before import: a missing required field, an invalid value or a duplicate record is reported by row number. A faulty row is not imported and the valid ones are not affected; you fix it and upload again.

If the export from your old program is complicated, our support team goes through your file with you and helps plan the move. For a step-by-step walk-through read the guide to moving from Excel to legal software.

Three assurances for your data

  • Automatic backup

Your data is backed up automatically at regular intervals. Backups are kept on MTY Cloud, the own cloud infrastructure of HukukBis, which operates HukukBis, in an environment designed for redundancy and low latency.

  • Export

You download your client, case, invoice and document lists as Excel or CSV whenever you like, without opening a support request.

  • Erasure request

As the data controller, your firm exports the data of a data subject and logs and processes an erasure request; what you did stays on record. See the KVKK compliance guide for law firms and the security and KVKK page.

What do people ask about data migration?

  1. 01/06

    Which formats can be imported?

Excel (.xlsx) and CSV files can be imported. If your old program exports in one of these formats, the file goes straight into the wizard; if not, our support team shows you a way to migrate.

  2. 02/06

    What happens to faulty rows?

A faulty row is not imported and is listed with its reason in the error report. The valid rows are not affected; you fix the errors and upload the file again.

  3. 03/06

In which format can I export?

Client, case, invoice and document lists download as Excel or CSV. You can take a list at any time without opening a support request.

  4. 04/06

How is an erasure request processed?

The request is logged and reviewed by an authorized user. Data with no legal retention obligation is deleted or anonymized, and the action taken stays on record. For the process see the KVKK compliance guide.

  5. 05/06

How do I restore from a backup?

Backups are taken automatically; if you need a restore you work with our support team, reachable by support request, e-mail and phone during weekday working hours.

  6. 06/06

What if my old program offers no export?

Our support team goes through your file with you and helps plan the move. To get started, write to us.
